The Women’s Fitness Association is proud to announce that we have partnered with Dress for Success Cincinnati to provide fitness training classes for DFS’s Queen Bee half marathon training groups!
Our volunteer Fitness It Forward coaches and presenters will be leading sessions in nutrition, body weight strength training, basic stretching, race day nutrition plus more!
The groups will meet on Saturdays, beginning September 6th, after the womens’ training walks and runs. We’re thrilled to be a part of this inspirational group and look forward to seeing these women at the Queen Bee finish line on October 11th!

WFA is about 10 weeks into the X-Lab program and presentation day is drawing near! Over the last couple months, Lisa Coors and the Board of Directors: Jody Aschendorf, Ali Sackenheim and Ashley Varol, have attended classes on Xavier University’s campus and off-site at Centrifuse downtown where local business leaders, entrepreneurs, angel investors and Xavier faculty have graciously offered their time, talents and advice to assist us in fine tuning our mission, vision and focus.
Many, many hours have been spent researching our industry and brainstorming ideas to make the Women’s Fitness Association THE premier provider of mentoring, education and networking to fitness professionals, fitness companies and avid exercisers both locally and nationally.
The WFA Board of Directors has leveraged their skill sets over the last two years, taking the WFA from birth through start-up phase. With a well-balanced knowledge base in law, business and fitness, the Board of Directors has a firm platform to grow and is in need of new elements. We are excited to present the Women’s Fitness Association to X-Lab next Thursday, January 23rd for the opportunity to win the assistance of Xavier University faculty, students, and executive mentors in taking WFA to the next level!
The Women’s Fitness Association is proud to announce our selection to participate in Xavier University’s X LAB (Xavier Launch A Business) ….or in our case, Launch a Non-Profit! X LAB is a 20 week series of lectures, hands-on business planning, presentations to leading local business executives and workshops. Xavier will select a handful of the 25 or so businesses and non-profits to “win” further business expertise, including:
- Assignment of a faculty member and/or business executive to act as our non-profit advisor.
- Consulting services for up to a full academic year — nine months — to assist with the development and launch of our non-profit.
- Access to workshops, executive mentors and networking events.
- Feedback on the development of our business plan from a panel of business professionals.
- A meeting with potential investors.
Founder Lisa Coors and Board Members Jody Aschendorf, Alison Sackenheim and Ashley Varol have made the 20 week commitment to the program. We are grateful and excited for the enormous opportunity X LAB is and look forward to further expansion of the WFA and its goals.
